In December last year while I was at Handmade arcade run by Nathan and Hayley of No Guts No Glory - (www.ngngdesign.com), I was approached by Laurent from ‘One Gear Exeter’, Laurent and his good friend Thomas were after having a logo designed with the idea to have them printed up onto tees for the riders.
I was chuffed to bits to be asked to design the logo and as I have a healthy obsession with bikes, this was right up my street!
Laurent and Thomas had seen a previous Illustration I had done of an Eagle wearing a cycling cap and they wanted this to be part of the logo, I kinda like birds as well so this was a bonus.
After back and forth sharing of ideas I was able to put down onto paper everything Laurent and Thomas were after, They were keen to have the motto ‘Just a ride, not a race’ incorporated into the design as they firmly believe in the social benefits within the community from cycling, having fun with a group of good people and getting more and more people involved in cycling.
And so this was what I was able to come up with.
Not long after I presented the guys with the design they were searching for a screen printing business to get T shirts printed up!
They eventually found an independant print shop based in Exeter called ‘Broadside Screenprinting’ - (www.broadsideprint.co.uk) run by Kev and Dan who did an ace job! I will be going to these guys for my screen printing needs in the future that’s for sure!
The tees came out great, I cant wait to get up to Exeter to go riding with the chaps and to get my hands of a tee :)
Thanks again guys for letting me get involved.
